Overspeed High Performance Street Racing Trainer Download Overview Plot The player is introduced to the world of racing by a young driver named Gally. They're in a race together when Gally crashes into a tree on the rain-soaked route. The player finds out that they can drive the car back to the race start point. While talking to Gally, the player is given a digital watch which allows them to log each race and get a new car. By the time the player gets the car and finds out they can't drive the vehicle, the rain has subsided. The player then decides to race against Gally in order to prove to him he can drive. The story is a minimalistic one. It's about a young boy that suddenly finds out he can drive cars and then sets out to prove it. Gameplay In the beginning, the player is given a starting car, which is powered by a power plant, also known as a carburetor. The player can improve the performance of the car by buying new parts. The new parts are ilegal, but, in-game, they can be gotten from a mysterious man that is wearing a silver helmet. A name for this man is "The Gambler". The player can race on any track they want, without the need for power ups. The tracks and cars can be upgraded by the player. In addition, the player has the option of competing against AI opponents. The AI uses the same car as the player, but with different modifications. The AI does not have the option to upgrade their car. They also can't do much of anything on the tracks, but they can grab the gold and lead from the player. In the end, the player can buy their first car, and the player can race a number of opponents and AI opponents. The player can also upgrade the vehicle and, in addition, can race on any track. Reception The game received a score of 6.0 from IGN, who commented that the vehicle handling is good, the gameplay is simple, and they liked the game overall. The game was awarded "Best Motorsport Game" by the International Game Developers Association at the E3 in 2002.
